
The new super sports car model, unveiled by Italian hyperforce luxury car Maserati, is the MC20. Developed from the Maserati Innovation Lab, the sports car will be produced at the historic Italian Viale Ciro Menotti plant, making its debut worldwide in Modena at the end of May this year.
The MC of Model Name MC20 that emphasizes the sports performance of vehicles means Maserati Racing, and 20 means 2020 when Maserati’s new history begins.
The MC20 is an evolution of the model MC12 that brought Maserati back to racing in 2004 and after 37 years. MC12 won 14 championship titles at FIA GT from 2004 to 2010, beating Constructors’ Championship, Drivers’ Championship and Teams’ Champions’ Championship, and won 22 races (including three Spa 24 Hours).
As such, Maserati will return to racing with the new super sports car MC20. The MC20 will be produced at the Modena plant, where extensive production line improvement work is currently underway for the production of high-tech electric power trains. In addition, a completely new plant interior facility, paint shop (painting department) is already under construction to build a more complete production facility, which will be equipped with innovative eco-friendly technology.
